Clinician - Community Connections Program

Location: East Orange, NJ

The Community Connections program consist of four community-based treatment programs, which provide individual and family counseling to families involved with the Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) and New Jersey Children's System of Care (CSOC). The goal for the programs and services is to promote positive change and stabilization of families in their natural environments. The Clinician should have experience working with a wide range of clinical/treatment populations, be able to work independently, and be creative and innovative in delivering quality clinical services in the home/community. The clinician must possess sound knowledge human development and its implications along the life continuum. The Clinician must meet documentation requirements, as well as have experience using a trauma informed approach and working with families that are/were involved with DCP&P and CSOC. Applicants should be team oriented, energetic, and must have transportation to reach families in their homes and communities. The candidate should be a culturally competent individual who will work in alignment with Family Connections' mission. The individual must be an enthusiastic team player and dedicated to the families we serve.

REQUIRED SKILLS & SPECIFIC LICENSE(S)

  • Valid NJ Driver's license
  • Master's in Social Work or equivalent master's in human services. LSW, LPC, or state licensure/certification specific to degree.
  • Two years' experience in mental health. Experience with diverse populations in an urban setting, familiarity with the child welfare system, complex trauma, culturally competent and some experience with children and families.

PREFERRED

  • Bilingual (Spanish/or Haitian Creole)
