Employment Specialist/Case Manager

Location: Essex County, NJ 

The Employment Specialist/Case Manager works within the Community Connections Program to provide outreach and case management to youth and provide input of case management as part of multi-disciplinary team. The Employment Specialist/Case Manager provides case management specific to employment, vocational and other job-related needs to youth in the Community Connections Program. The Employment Specialist/Case Manager provides constructive advocacy and support to the families, develops and facilities job skills training for the youth. The position is responsible for guiding and supporting the client through the job search process and interview process through assistance with interviewing techniques, professional dress attire guidance and mock interviewing interactions. The Employment Specialist/Case Manager is responsible for developing employment opportunities in the community by networking with community members and assisting in referring youth for employment. In addition, the Employment Specialist/ Case Manager is responsible for assisting youth in GED/college/career planning and supporting peer advocates mentoring groups. The position Is responsible for maintaining the required documentation for the services provided and is required to attend meetings, trainings, and workshops.

Requirements

Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in the Human Service Field or Social Work.

Experience:  One-to-two years working with client population providing case management. Experience working with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

Knowledge:  Knowledge of community resources, assessments, care plans, progress notes, and computer database systems.
